She graduated from the University of Alaska, Anchorage where she earned a degree in English. Her writing experience includes freelance journalism, an award-winning play, poetry (winner of the William Stafford Award in 2004), and writing and editing for nonprofit organizations. She is a member of the Historical Novel Society and has two historical novels in development. Sandra loves travel and blogs about Italy at www.TheItalianSouth.com. For three years she has chaired or co-chaired a writers' conference (www.opcwc.com). She has three adult children and plays Scrabble with her husband almost every day.
