After receiving a degree in environmental studies from CU Boulder, he moved to Thailand where he completed a Master's Degree in Marine Ecology and started the New Heaven Reef Conservation Program. Following the success of that program, he started the non-profit marine management training organization Conservation Diver, which has franchises in several locations around the globe.
