She has an expertise in the field of parenting and is the author of "Catch Them Being Good: A Guide to Positive Parenting," adopted by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health as a 1990s parenting model. She served as staff psychologist at UCLA's Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, Department of Psychiatry. Additionally, she worked in executive leadership and management positions in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, as well as serving as faculty for graduate programs where she taught courses such as lifespan development, diversity, suicide and crisis prevention and intervention, and clinical supervision. Dr. Kussin is highly sought-after as a consultant to schools and agencies. She bridges communication across many constituents, including faith based.
