During the latter part of her childhood, she was raised by her aunt, Leslie. In the home of her aunt, she was raised with a Christian foundation, and later she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She excelled in school and went on to higher education, earning her BA/MA degree in sociology at CSUDH in Carson, California.
