Charlene graduated East Central University, Ada, Oklahoma in May, 1978 with a BA in Ed. She taught freshmen English, newspaper and creative writing for 5 years at Wewoka High School, Wewoka, Oklahoma.
Gracie won a scholarship at Mount Waschuetts Community College, Gardner, Mass. for an essay she had written.
