The main message is to get beyond our collectively learned and shared beliefs about others and enjoy the gift of life and love for all that inhabits the earth.
Sharon is a native Washingtonian, who grew up in a village-type community named Eastland Gardens in the District of Columbia, located near the Maryland (USA) state line. As a child, many adults that included extended family and a host of attentive neighbors tolerated and cultivated her precociousness. Her grandmother, Hattie Mae Williams, who was one of the first residents of the self-contained community, purchased the family home in 1945. Sharon was one of the fourth-generation grandchildren to enjoy a childhood that allowed children to just be children.
The confidence and cultivation she gained as a child is also evident in her accomplishing many achievements within a variety of academic and artistic fields. Sharon is a visual performance artist, cultural anthropologist, educator, musician, and author. She is also an ordained Christian minister, with a primary focus on biblical studies and Christian education.
She is the mother of a son and daughter and a grandmother to four grandchildren. Her love for children around the world has given her wonderful opportunities to enjoy and mentor many diverse people as her students, colleagues, and friends.
Like her organization, A Minor Enterprise, Sharon hopes this book will cause some major impact among those who value and are committed to finding ways to bring more peace and love of beauty throughout the world.
