She was raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, and Fort Worth, Texas. A’Besa graduated from Eastern Hills High School and attended Tarrant County College and Prairie View A&M University. She holds a degree in biblical studies from DFW Bible Institute and is currently enrolled in Ashford University. A’Besa has been married to Bishop J. L. Hodge for seventeen years. She is the mother of four beautiful children (Lacharele, Jajuan Jr., Keandre, and Xavier) and the proud grandmother to two (Chaseton and Keandre Jr.). Her passion is to teach children, encourage others, spend time with her family, and work in the ministry with her husband.
