Harriette was born, raised and educated in Santa Monica, California. After receiving an Associate of Arts degree from Santa Monica College, she joined the United States Marine Corps, during the Vietnam Era. Upon leaving the Marine Corps, she attended California State University, Northridge, majoring in Theatre Arts and Languages. On the Deans list in her first year, she was presented with the opportunity to study in the Junior Year Abroad program for the California State Universities, where she attended the Institut Pour Les trangers in Aix-en-Provence, France. After returning home, she continued her studies in Theatre Arts, but completed her B.A. and M.A. in French with a minor in Spanish. She was offered a position at the French Consulate of Los Angeles, where she continued to hone her abilities of speaking, interpreting and translating French. She also was a member of a local Theatre company in Hollywood, California. For her spiritual studies, she attended the Johnnie Coleman Institute in Chicago, where after intensive studies, she was certified as a teacher in the New Thought Christian tradition, and taught at the Los Angeles based Understanding Principles for Better Living Church, where The Reverend Dr. Della Reese Lett was the minister/founder. Although was raised in a very religious family, she credits her studies in New Thought as the basis for her current spiritual quest, where continuing her spiritual growth is paramount.
