He worked in the health field all of his adult life. He was particularly privileged to study the mind-body connection under the guidance of Dr. Herbert Benson at the Mind Body Medical Institute in Boston.
Mr. Gillespie is the director of the Center for Complementary Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island, New York, part of the Northwell Health system. He teaches stress management and meditation, and he also runs the smoking cessation clinic at the hospital. The author also served as an adjunct professor of health and physical education at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, New Jersey.
Mr. Gillespie resides in Middletown, New Jersey, with his wife, Janet. He has three grown children and two grandchildren, with the hope of having more sometime in the future. After reading his book, you will not be surprised to learn that he enjoys the real three Rsreading, writing, running, as well as photography!
