Following his retirement, he moved to Crystal River, Florida, where he earned a Bachelor’s and a Master of Arts degree with honors in geography at the University of Florida. He later served as adjunct professor of geography at that university. More recently he completed a second career as cartographer and physical scientist with what is now the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. Soon to be published projects include several novels in period western as well as contemporary mystery genres.
