Casey is a Roman Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and presently serves as rector of Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral, Indianapolis, Indiana. He holds a master of divinity degree from Saint Meinrad School of Theology, a master of arts degree in religious studies from Indiana University, and a doctor of ministry degree in spiritual direction from the Weston School of Theology, now a part of Boston College. Throughout the thirty-six-year journey of priesthood, thirty of those years were spent as a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, where he taught and practiced spiritual direction and administered the spiritual formation program of the College. During that period, he also served as president of the Midwest and, later, National Spiritual Directors Federation.
