He graduated from the School of Physical Education and Sports Science from the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University in 1993 with a diploma and taught in a primary school for six years. He then furthered his studies at Loughborough University in the United Kingdom where he graduated with second upper class honours. Following that, he taught at a secondary school and a junior college. He has been a teacher for twenty-one years. Health education is his passion and physical education for life is his personal motto. He has been on work attachments to the Health Promotion Board and Alexandra Hospital (Weight Management Centre) and has conducted talks, workshops, and presentations at schools, clusters, and national levels. He is married and has five school-going children. He is an avid triathlete and finds time to train regularly despite his busy career and family life. This was not the case previously where he led a largely sedentary lifestyle and didn’t observe a healthy diet. His turning point came when he was in his midthirties. He was told that he had high cholesterol and had to take medication for the rest of his life. From that point onwards, he managed to turn around and change his lifestyle to a healthier one. It had a profound effect on not only him but the people around him. He made it a personal mission to share this joy to as many people as he knows, and he hopes by penning his method and sharing it, more people can experience the positive impact of a healthier lifestyle. He believes that balancing work and family life is possible and important.lihat lebih sedikit
