He did postgraduate studies at the National Center for Scientific Research in Havana, Cuba, where he earned a degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Lopez worked as a scientific researcher for twenty years in the field of Biomedicine. He is currently Adjunct Professor of Human Anatomy and Physiology at Miami Dade College and Broward College in Miami, Florida.
