As a native New Yorker, Kaitlyn Guttridge grew up in Westchester County, New York, and was raised in the Greek Orthodox faith. Throughout her childhood and early adult years, she spent a large portion of her time in New York City. She was inspired to write this book after going to the 9/11 memorial and museum. As elementary school teacher at a local South Carolina school, she is a firm believer in using books to discuss sensitive subjects with children. Therefore, her hope for this book is that it will be used as a tool for parents and teachers to teach and talk to children about the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and the hope for a better future.
Joey Forkan, grew up in Livingston, New Jersey. He is currently a freshman at the County College of Morris where he studies fine art. Drawing has always been a passion of Joey’s, but it was made into a new career when he sold his first commission piece at the age of fourteen.
