LeRoy Brown wrote his first story at the tender age of eleven. It was a submission for a contest being held by Reader’s Digest when he was in grade school. His story won the contest, and from that day on LeRoy considered himself a writer. Throughout his life, LeRoy always wrote poetry, stories, etc., but everything he wrote, including letters, memos, and reports written for his employers in the business world, he considered literary works. A document that would take him thirty minutes to write, he would spend days, sometimes weeks, reviewing, changing, and perfecting.
