He left Vietnam and came to the U.S.A. as a refugee at the age of eighteen. He enrolled first at the University of Washington and then at other universities in the US and completed his doctoral degrees. He has taught, researched, and worked both in industry and universities. He has traveled and worked in different countries and experienced different cultures. Up until now he has experienced different suffering and tragedy.
