She and her husband Gabriel graduated from the Bucharest Institute for Agricultural Science with Master’s Degrees in Agronomy. After graduation both managed a large state farm on Great Braila Island. Later, they made the transition into research and worked at the Institute for Agricultural Research Fundulea.
