He was born in Melbourne, Victoria although moved to Sydney when he was still a baby, living in Castle Hill with his parents and older sister. The family lived there until 1980 and then moved to Birchgrove on the Balmain peninsula, re-locating schools in the process. As a boy he was an excellent student, and was selected from the local school to attend Fort Street High School. He was dux of his primary school and also dux of chemistry at high school and after deferring a year, was educated at the University of New South Wales, quite an achievement and highly demanding. He graduated in Environmental Engineering. After university he has worked with NSW Public Works and also Sydney Water, and writes poetry in his spare time. He is currently residing in the Upper Hunter Valley with family.lihat lebih sedikit
