She has been writing all her life and was first published in the local newspaper in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, at the age of fourteen.
Writing was more of a hobby that she pursued over the years. Her first love was fashion design, and when she missed a scholarship to Parsons School of Design in New York City, she did the next best thing and became a fashion buyer. She spent a good deal of her working life in retail, until the economy turned sour and she had to turn to a new field.
