He reported from Washington for the Philadelphia Bulletin, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and the McClatchy newspaper chain. He was president of the White House Correspondents Association and the Gridiron Club. This memoir reveals information O’Rourke acquired through conversations with presidents from Johnson to Obama and other national and international figures. O’Rourke is the author of the biography Geno.
The memoir covers O’Rourke’s Irish Catholic childhood in Philadelphia, military service in Puerto Rico, marathon running, recovery from prostate cancer and a heart attack.
