BerniePortal, the web-based HR platform built by brokers for brokers was launched out of Bernard Health in 2008. Until 2011, Alex worked primarily as a group health insurance broker. Now, his primary duties are related to the ongoing development of BerniePortal. Originally from Indiana, Alex has his BS and BA in finance and international studies from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton School) where he was a member of the Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business. He obtained his JD and MBA from Vanderbilt University Law School and Vanderbilt’s Owen School of Management.
