Originally, from Philadelphia, Pa, and a graduate of Temple University, he taught business education in high school for 25 years before entering seminary in 1978 and becoming ordained in 1981. He has served churches in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Michigan. He holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Palmer Theological Seminary of Philadelphia.
