During her captivity, Alexandra often wrote poetry late in the evening about her distant homeland and about the hope for a dignified life. It was both difficult and dangerous to write poems under the watchful eye of her captors, and that is why most of her verse was lost during forced displacements from city to city and from country to country. Only by a miracle did one such poem survive. Written in 1943, the poem can be found in this collection under the title “We will not give in”.lihat lebih sedikit
