He served as Superintendent of schools in two school districts in West Virginia, and was the first Joseph Oxendine distinguished professor in Leadership at the University of North Carolina, Pembroke. After serving on the Doctoral faculties at Marshall and West Virginia University he is now involved as the principal of JD Jones and Associates in Charleston, West Virginia focusing on Organizational Intervention and Renewal.
