Marine Corps veteran. After graduation from college, he worked in sales and marketing for a major pharmaceutical company. A few years later he left the pharmaceutical industry and successfully owned and operated several businesses of his own.
After he sold his businesses he entered the financial services industry as a stock broker and financial planner. He worked for Merrill Lynch, Dean Witter, and Paine Webber. He left the financial services industry in 1999 to devote full time to writing.
