At the age of 10, his mother died, and hard as it is to believe, his father was murdered when he was seventeen. Unimaginable devastation for anyone. When Curtis was in the 12th grade, he dropped out of high school and pretty much gave up on life.
Tired of the way his life was going and wanting to see change, Curtis enrolled in Isothermal Community College and received his High School Diploma. Going on to attend Oral Roberts University, he achieved his BA in Church Ministries. Continuing in education he completed a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling with a concentration in Executive Leadership from Liberty University. Pastor Curtis is now pursuing a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Grand Canyon University.
