He started school in Nigeria and later attended high school at the College of Immaculate Conception in Enugu, Nigeria, and university at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and Enugu campuses. He did his residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, New York, a division of State University of New York (SUNY). He graduated from medical school in 2000.
Dr. Ilo is a British citizen by birth, a Nigerian citizen by parental origin, and a naturalized US citizen. Apogee Physicians (the largest entirely physician-owned and operated hospitalist group in the nation) sponsored his green card.
He has published work on stem cells and is a board-certified physician in the United States. He currently works with geriatric and hospice groups as well as working in acute care as a hospitalist in Indiana. He loves his job and helping patients.
