I joined the French foreign legion at the age of 19 after telling my dad and mom I was going hop picking in France. After training with the 4th regiment etrangere de infantry (basic training regiment in Castle naudery), then joined the 1st regiment etrangere de cavalry (tank regiment) I was posted to Iraq and Saudi Arabia where I spent my 20th birthday in the desert
