Although Dr. Abdi grew up in his homeland and completed his primary educat ion there,he gained his college and graduate education in a number of countries including Egypt, the United Kingdom, and t he United States. He holds fou r college degrees, including Masters in both Public Healt h and Public Admin istration. His doctorate is in political science from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta. Ever since he left Somalia unceremoniously crossing th e Somalia-Kenya border in 1972, Dr. Abdi never forgot the tragedies he has left behind, and has not been surprised how the events that preceded the current turmoil unfolded.
