He and his wife of over sixty years, Shirley, were married soon after graduating from high school. A Christian since his early teens, and a businessman before he became an adult, Vernon has applied his Christian parents' conservative tenets in his own family's lives. The small business he and Shirley started has been blessed, and grown under their past nurturing, and the present efforts of their three sons and daughter, and some of their twenty-five grandchildren. Vernon and Shirley consider their greatest earthly blessing to be the good name of their family and the family's business. He is the author of Bits of Christian Wisdom and Bits of Practical Wisdom. He and Shirley are co-authors of a children's book titled Three Cat Tails. Proceeds from the sale of these books go to their charitable non-profit, The Gilbertex Foundation, Inc. for support of missionaries and distribution of Bibles to churches, prisons and others.lihat lebih sedikit
