He owns a painting business called Colarossi Painting. He started the business in 1994 putting a ladder on the back of a 1977 Alfa Romero Sedan and aimed to deliver a better-quality service than what was currently out there.
There was a point in Ben’s life in the early ’90s when he was standing in the aisle of a grocery store staring at the cans of tuna fish with twenty dollars in his pocket and thinking how many cans of tuna fish and loaf of bread he can buy to last him for a week. He was at a very low point in his life.
He met a man named Norman Lewis, who gave him a job as a limo driver. He was flat broke and mentally and emotionally depleted. Norman Lewis gave him a helping hand and blew life into his veins because as men, we need to work and to hunt. Soon after working as a limo driver, Ben fell into the painting business, and a voice told him to put an ad in the paper and customers will come.
His painting business flourished.
Ben was still emotionally depleted and hungry to find someone to love and be loved. Having the money, he experienced all of the world’s sweet nectarines along with the undercurrent of evil. Having all the riches of the world, he fell on his knees one day and cried and asked God to give him a woman because he cannot live his life anymore. Soon after, he found this beautiful woman, and he understood what love was and what intimacy was.
Life has a way of putting two childlike people together with an abundance of love pouring out, promising that they will never part. Life has its pull. For whatever reason, life pulled them apart and started the endless days of crying.
Again one day he woke up, and an inner voice told him sounds of silence, not of command; and he said, “What does that mean?” He just listened, woke up with a pen and paper, and started writing. This is how it’s been: he writes what he hears. He doesn’t hear what he writes until after he reads it and he says to himself, “Who wrote that?”
Ben wakes up with these words just flowing from his lips and immediately begins dictating them or writing them on a napkin or iPad . . . whatever is handy at the time. He feels he is being led to communicate these words, poems to help others that may have gone through a difficult relationship, losing a loved one, or breaking up after giving your “heart and soul” to a person you thought was your “soul mate.”
Ben’s hope is that these poems bring comfort and love to those of us who are going through a difficult time and are searching for answers. May you find comfort, support, and prayer as your friend as you read these poems.
Ben has also started a blog for folks wanting to share and listen to others that have gone through difficult experiences in relationships and find comfort in knowing that you are not alone and there is a community of folks that have had similar experiences. There is power in prayer and community.lihat lebih sedikit
