She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Michigan State University and a certificate in publishing from the University of Denver Publishing Institute. She also possesses a master’s degree from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor and a post-graduate certificate in gerontology from Wayne State University Institute of Gerontology. A genealogy and photography buff, she is currently working on a children’s empowerment series and a second novel.
