She is a graduate of Lipscomb University where she was editor-in-chief of the school newspaper during her senior year, 1962-63, when it was awarded the All-American rating by the Associated Collegiate Press. Ms. Gass spent ten years in writing and editing (newspaper journalism) and five years teaching English and communications at the postsecondary level.
