In 2005, she won the British Council (Botswana)/Alexander McCall Smith Short Story Competition. Her writings have been published in The Edinburgh Review, AGNI, Riptide Journal, anthologies and online. Her first collection of stories Just Once (2009) is mainly for children. She was a Civitella Ranieri Fellow in Fiction. She holds an MA in Creative Writing from Rhodes University. Her second story collection, Go Tell the Sun (2011) has been redesigned and is now being republished in this new version. Ve, cuéntaselo al sol (2021) is the Spanish version of the collection.Rustum Kozain has written of her work: ‘Wame Molefhe’s stories have a gentle, unassuming yet intimate and captivating feel to them.
