Derwin served on a Military Police Special Response Team and was assigned to the US European Command’s Protective Service Detachment where he was an Assistant Team Leader, Unit Training NCO, and Unarmed Self-Defense Instructor. Derwin also served in US Army National Guard as a Reconnaissance Scout. He has conducted military, dignitary protection, and security operations on five continents.
Derwin has trained SWAT Teams, US Army and British Special Forces personnel, government agents, bodyguards, and police officers in, Counterterrorist Tactics, Dignitary Protection, Defensive Tactics, Active Shooter Response, Building Search, and Close Quarters Battle tactics.
