He is also a docent at the George Washington Office Museum, which is run by the Winchester, Frederick County Historical Society, and a sportswriter for the Winchester Star. Jerry has led tours of the historical sites around Winchester and the Shenandoah Valley for various groups, including the Winchester, Frederick County Visitors Center. He is also the author of many magazine articles for various publications, including Civil War Times, Blue and Gray magazine, the Washington Times, Cobblestone magazine and Potomac magazine.
