He chaired Concord's 350th Anniversary Committee in 1985 and served on the 375th Anniversary Committee in 2010. As a professor of government and sociology at Bentley University, Rick was a guest political commentator on multiple radio and TV programs and has moderated congressional, senatorial and gubernatorial debates. Rick has been a political commentator on critical political issues for the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Business Week, Orlando Sentinel, Duluth News Tribune and the Macon Telegraph; and also commentated on WHDH-TV, WBZ TV and Radio, MSNBC, Christian Science Monitor TV, Radio KOMA in Oklahoma City, NH Public Radio and the Dallas Morning News.
