She is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, a certified schoolteacher, and a former Foster Care caseworker for Child Protective Services. Stephanie and her husband, Brad, live in Nederland, Texas and have been married for 19 years. Together, they are raising their nine-year-old identical twin daughters, Sarah Ashton and Sophie Annabelle. She and her family attend Freedom Christian Fellowship in Port Neches, Texas.
