He was a decorated Navy press escort officer in Vietnam in the 1960’s during the height of the fighting. His has been a TV reporter, a radio producer at the U.S. Information Agency, and an advertising agency executive. He earned a journalism degree from the University of North Carolina and the University of Lyon, France, as well as a graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
