He was involved in process analytical instrumentation and was a global Knowledge Management Focal Point and coordinator of 36 Technical Discipline teams prior to moving into the process safety area. He was a member of the American Chemical Society and authored technical standards for the Instrument Society of America and the American Petroleum Institute.
