He completed a post-graduate philosophy degree in Johannesburg (University of the Witwatersrand) and studied film making at the French National film school in Paris (IDHEC). He spent many years producing and directing films in Africa, the United Kingdom, and Australia. In the last decade he co-curated content at the Ration Shed Museum in the Cherbourg Aboriginal Community in Queensland, Australia. He is now a full-time writer.
