Before dedicating herself to the craft, she made ends meet reading tarot cards, delivering pizza, nannying, and eventually earning a master's in elementary education and teaching fifth grade. Zane's debut novel The Magic of Moon and Herbs is a finalist for the 2023 Gertrude Warner Award. Zane lives in Portland, Oregon with her spouse, their inquisitive and hilarious kiddo, and Artemis the pug.
